چکیده
1 Executive Summary We started with an introduction to the notion of percolation over random graphs with a 2-D lattice as an example. We then studied branching processes over random trees and proved conditions under which the such a process continues forever with positive probability. Finally, we defined the probability space of a random graph over a 2-D lattice. 2 Introduction to Percolation Consider the graph formed by a 2-D lattice L , G(V,E) with vertex set V = Z and edge set E = {(x, y) ∈ V 2 : ||x− y|| = 1}. We derive a random graph as follows: each edge in L exists with probability p. Such edges are said to be open. This gives rise to the bond percolation model. Alternatively, if we randomly retain vertices instead of edges, we have the site percolation model.

Summary of Lecture 17 - Nov . 10 , 2008 Scribe : David Tisza
1 Executive Summary We have continued with a review on the bond percolation and the introduced the coupling of the bond percolation process, then defined the critical phenomenon and the percolation probability. There is a theorem about the percolation probability is a non decreasing function and we bounded it between 1/3 and 2/3 for the two dimensional case. 2 Bond Percolation 2.1 Preliminaries...

متن کاملNorovirus Diversity in Diarrheic Children from an African-Descendant Settlement in Belém, Northern Brazil
Norovirus (NoV), sapovirus (SaV) and human astrovirus (HAstV) are viral pathogens that are associated with outbreaks and sporadic cases of gastroenteritis. However, little is known about the occurrence of these pathogens in relatively isolated communities, such as the remnants of African-descendant villages ("Quilombola"). The objective of this study was the frequency determination of these vir...
متن کاملClinical and molecular analyses of norovirus-associated sporadic acute gastroenteritis: the emergence of GII.17 over GII.4, Huzhou, China, 2015
BACKGROUND Noroviruses (NoVs) are the most common cause of non-bacterial acute gastroenteritis (AGE) in all age groups worldwide. The NoVs circulating in Huzhou over the past 7 years were predominantly GII.4 genotypes. In the winter of 2014-2015, a novel variant of NoV GII.17 emerged and became predominant. We report the epidemiological patterns and genetic characteristics of NoV after the appe...
